Animal Totem App Version 2.0 is here!

Posted in App News on May 19th, 2011 by Dan – 3 Comments

The next version of the popular Animal Totem Cards app is here. The app is pre-loaded with over 100 different animals and their meanings. We’ve been busy not only adding new features to the app, but we’ve also been adding new animals based on user suggestions. We have received so many suggestions that we now have a backlog of new animal requests. But be assured we will get to them all soon!

So, what’s new in this version you ask?

  • Social Interaction – When you select a random card, you can have that animal name tweeted to the @TotemJournal Twitter account automatically. You decide whether to include your own Twitter account name, and/or the location where you selected the card. See what other people in other areas are selecting by following @TotemJournal on twitter!
  • Shamanic Journey – What to take a journey to see your select totem? The Journey option allows you to select how long of a journey you wish to take, and to choose from 3 different sounds, two native drums, and a native rattle sound. You control the speed of the beat and whether you want a callback sound played toward the end of the journey.

The update is free to anyone who already has the app, and for those who do not, it’s still only 0.99!!!

Today’s Animal Totem : Sea Monkey

Posted in Animal Meanings on April 1st, 2011 by Dan – Be the first to comment

For those who are lucky to have the Sea Monkey as their power totem, fun is always surrounding them. The sea monkey is a water creature that thrives on fun, and practical jokes. Although once thought to be extinct, the Sea Monkey has recently re-emerged. Biologists confirmed that the species was never actually extinct. The entire species was play a game of hide and seek. It became apparent at some time that with all the Sea Monkeys hiding, no one was searching for them.

If Sea Monkey comes to you

  • Seek out fun and excitement.
  • Take some time to hide from others, but not for too long.
  • You may be very gullible at this time, beware of pranksters.

Today’s Animal Totem : Kingfisher

My wife and I often see a kingfisher sitting on a telephone line. It seems like the same kingfisher is always in the same spot. I rarely see a kingfisher in flight. These things never bothered me until I learned more about what Kingfisher meant.

If kingfisher comes to you :

  • Stay focused on your task.
  • Are you taking yourself too serious?
  • To achieve your goals make sure you are comfortable in your surroundings.
  • Are you daydreaming too much?

Today’s Animal Totem : Lizard

Posted in Animal Meanings on February 7th, 2011 by Dan – Be the first to comment

In South Florida we have a wide variety of lizards. The lizard is also my wife’s power totem. Lizards always seem to be watching us, until we look at them, then they scurry away. They also love to hide and peek out just a little to watch us. Lizard is also tied to our dreams. My wife often has very lucid dreams which would explain why lizard is her totem.

If lizard comes to you :

  • Know when to remain still, and when to spring into action.
  • Even though it may seem to others you are not paying attention, you really are.
  • Pay attention to your dreams, they may carry an important message.

Many ecologist say “You can tell the status of the eco-system by observing the frogs”. Apparently frogs are the totem of the planet. By examining how they mature and interact, you can determine many health of their environment. From tadpole to adult, frogs show us how important change is in our lives.

If frog comes to you :

  • Don’t get yourself stuck in the mud.
  • Change is coming. Let your creative forces out.
  • You are entering a time of abundance and bounty.
